All text in roman type; italic reserved sparingly for emphasis and math. Special math functions are in roman; e.g., sin, log.

Chemistry: element name in lower case, symbol in caps: calcium, Ca.

Units, all in roman. There is a space between unit and number before it: 43 s, 13.9 kW, 0.12 EJ but $12.72. Most units are abbreviated with capital roman letters, but ancient exceptions: : s, m, g.

Single capital letters denote increasing factors of thousand, while lower case decreasing factors of a thousand; except k (kilo) & μ (mico).]
