Girls Reaching to Achieve in Sports & Physics (GRASP)

2010 GRASP Activities - Monday June 14 & 21

  Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday

Professor Richard Hughes gave a lecture and demonstration on projectile motion.
After Dr. Hughes' presentation, the GRASP participants volunteered in the classic "shoot the monkey" demonstration.
After learning about projectile motion with Dr. Hughes, the girls made catapults using popsicle sticks, glue, and rubber bands. Prizes were given to those who could shoot their projectile furthest and most accurately.
In the afternon, we meet up with some OSU football players who gave the GRASP participants a lesson on how to properly kick and throw a football.
The girls tested their new sills during a game of flag football.
The participants and volunteers of the first session of GRASP, June 14-18, with OSU football players.
The participants and volunteers of the second session of GRASP, June 21-25, with OSU football players.
