CDF Tracking Electronics Workshop
Department of Physics
Ohio State University
August 11-12, 1998
For
the best rates, make your travel and hotel reservations as soon as possible.
Registration:
Please fill out the registration
form and fax it to 614-292-8261. A registration fee will
be collected at the start of the workshop. This fee is payable by
check, money order, or cash. The amount of the fee is being determined.
We expect it to be between $20 and $30. It will cover the cost of
coffee, soft-drinks, pastries, and a lunch on Aug 12.
Travel:
There are cheap flights between
Midway and Columbus on America West Airlines and Southwest Airlines.
Advanced fares can be as low as $89 round trip. Both these airlines
have jet service into Columbus. United Airlines flies to Columbus
from O'Hare, the fares are usually not as cheap. American Airlines
uses their commuter company American Eagle to fly into Columbus from O'Hare,
they do NOT have jet service. From the airport, there is an Holiday
Inn Shuttle bus (see below) and Taxis (~$16-18). In addition, all
the major rental car companies have sites at the Columbus airport.
The drive from FNAL is about 8 hours,
probably a little long for a 1 1/2 day workshop. The drive from Ann Arbor
is about 2.5-3 hours.
Accommodations:
A block of rooms has been reserved
at the Holiday Inn on the Lane. This hotel is about a 5 min
walk from the Smith Laboratory (Physics Building). The rate
is $69 per night. Reservations need
to be made by to lock in this rate.
The phone number is 614-294-4848. When making the reservation tell them
you are with the CDF Trigger Workshop.
