The Council of Graduate Students (CGS) has established the Professional Development Fund (PDF) to assist with expenses incurred by graduate students when presenting original research at a conference. Students may receive up to $300 in PDF grants within an academic year. There is no limit to the amount of PDF funding an individual may receive during their graduate career at OSU. To be eligible for reimbursement, the applicant must be enrolled and in good standing with the Graduate School during the quarter in which they give their talk. The student must present proof of presentation, all receipts, and a signed form upon returning from the conference. Expenses which are covered include:
Expenses which are not covered by the PDF are food, alcohol, transportation at the conference, and entertainment.
PDF applicants are expected to seek travel funds from their departments, advisors and other outside sources first.
Completed applications should be submitted during the academic quarter in which the talk occurs or the quarter before the conference. Typically the quarter deadlines are the end of the first full week of July, October, January and April.
