Using the Laptop Safely
The laptop (ask Shelley for its location) should always be
checked out and returned promptly.
Be Safe. Since the laptop is only
for presentations, it is *not* regularly updated with virus protections
and patches. Accordingly, please observe these don'ts.
- Don't Use Outlook Express to check mail.
- Don't Download files without scanning for viruses.
- Don't Download and execute *any* files.
- Don't Use browsers
When connecting to the outside world, stick to these safe three:
- SSH Secure Shell Client to reach accounts.
- SSH Secure File Transfer Client to copy files.
- Print only to network printers.
Your comments and
suggestions are appreciated.
