S P O I L E R S ! Tap-Out and Glyph have their tech specs presented on replicas of the old Milton-Bradley "Action Cards". Tap-Out also has a TFU style profile in the convention's program guide. Cyclonus' tech spec is a replica of a G1 tech spec. CatSCAN's is somewhat unusual, like his packaging. CatSCAN's box resembles a small medical computer, with screens, readouts, and lights on it. The text of his profile is in green on a black "screen" background. His stats appear as values on a guage of some sort: a glowing yellow bar fills in the appropriate number of units in the graph. TAP-OUT ALLEGIANCE: AUTOBOT FUNCTION: BODYGUARD FIRST APPEARANCE: RIGHT HERE "Never quit." Profile: A prisoner of the DECEPTICON army during the height of the Third Great War, TAP-OUT received an unorthodox education in combat from one of the most brutal and gruesome enterprises in Cybertron's history -- the infamous grease pits of Polyhex. Captured by DECEPTICON warriors during a routine patrol mission, TAP-OUT and his platoon were forced to perform as gladiatorial combatants against their fellow inmates, all as DECEPTICON audiences looked on and wagered on the prisoner's fates. Unwilling to surrender his unit's safety under any circumstances, TAP-OUT assumed the role of protector for his comrades, frequently volunteering to do combat in their place. Though TAP-OUT and many of his fellow prisoners were eventually freed by an AUTOBOT strike force, he has never forgotten the dozens of innocent prisoners who fell by his own hands, nor the echoes of laughter that rained down upon him as he fought to stay alive. TAP-OUT does his best to cover this tragic past with an oddly upbeat and congenial demeanor, one that belies the intense devotion he has toward defending innocent life. Abilities: TAP-OUT has incredibly fine-tuned mechanical feedback circuitry, giving him astounding reflexes and agility. Armored strike points in his fists and forearms allow him to topple a small building with a single punch -- a fact not lost on many opponents who have attempted to come between TAP-OUT and those he is charged to protect. Though small in stature, his robot form is unusually resilient, and he is capable of absorbing punishment that might irrevocably damage some AUTOBOTS twice his size. Aside from his physical durability, however, his most valuable assets are his can-do attitude and selfless bravado. Weaknesses: Though physically resilient in robot form, the vehicular form of TAP-OUT is not especially fast or maneuverable, a weakness he normally avoids by remaining in robot mode whenever and wherever he can. While TAP-OUT is extremely brave and will jump into action at a moment's notice, the obsessive manner in which he approaches his bodyguard duties frequently causes him to take unnecessary personal risks. Though he covers his internal anguish with a cheery and optimistic demeanor, TAP-OUT maintains an almost religious devotion to the individuals he protects. Extremely brave, TAP-OUT's tendency to act first and ask questions later borders on recklessness, and often lands him in needlessly dangerous situations. A natural researcher and forensic scientist, GLYPH's advanced hermeneutic circuitry allows her to analyze and decipher even the most cryptic of patterns and language structures. Exceptionally bright and intellectual, GLYPH maintains a nearly manic attentiveness to detail. Fascinated by the sheer complexity of alien cultures and their histories, GLYPH's eye for even the most obscure of minutiae has become unmatched among her colleagues. While highly skilled and intelligent, GLYPH's robot form is neither particularly strong nor durable. Armed with two battle blades of ancient Cybertronian design and a tail-mounted plasma torch, CATSCAN could easily be considered a lethal one-robot army. This fact notwithstanding, his fearsome appearance belies an inherently gentle and nonviolent personality -- it is simply not in his programming to cause harm to other beings. Lacking a Spark of his own, CATSCAN has a deep wish to understand the true nature of his self-awareness. He looks up to APELINQ as a mentor and "creator figure" and often acts as a voice of conscience among his teammates.
