The comic cover image to the left just about says it all. When it comes to Decepticon Commanders, Jhiaxus kicks Megatron's ass all over the place. Unfortunately, he has no toy to do such with in real life.

This had to be remedied.

But how? While it's been argued that Jhiaxus' body was designed loosely on a Skyraider (or Seeker, for you fan-made-term-using pooheads) a Jhiaxus made out of Starscream would suck, and not just because the mold itself is one of the worst things ever. No, Jhiaxus has to be massive. Jhiaxus has to be powerful. Jhiaxus has to be poseable.

So only one option lay before me: G2 Dreadwing. I had the toy. I had the technology. It could be done.

Since the beginning of time, #wiigii! has agreed on only two things: One is that second-in-command means suck, and the other is that TM Rhinox's head looks just like Jhiaxus. Well, minus the mohawk and the Starscream-ish ear vents. So dedicated was I to making Jhiaxus a reality that I decapitated my only Rhinox (and I love that toy!) and stuck his head on Dreadwing. (Minor problem being that Rhinox's head was balljointed, and Dreadwing's was screwed on. After cooking and painting, the head snapped into the originally large hole, though.)

Adding sculpty only to Rhinox's head and to the robot's chest (forming Jhiaxus' cockpit windows), he was ready to be painted. Urgh. You know how hard it is to find white spray paint? Well, it usually isn't, unless you're looking for it. It must be banned or something, I swear. I got the nice glossy stuff and spent the next few days covering up the navy-blue toy with white paint. (aie)

Afterwards I colored the non-white parts of him the way they should be. Green on the shoulders, gold on his legs and chest, red here and there... The final touch was G2 Decepticon logo stickers that I ordered from Delta. (They got lost in the mail on first try, but Delta sent me NEW ones for free! Delta rules.

Voila! He's done. He won't transform again after this one time, due to sticky joints and finicky paint that likes to scratch off, but he can (sorta) transform.
