Columbus Ice Storm

In December 2004, Columbus was hit with an ice storm shortly before Christmas. Here are some pictures I took around the apartment the day after.

Big icicles hang from a covered walkway, and a neighbor trudges off to break his car free.
This poor tree isn't snapped, but the weight of the ice has bent it the whole way over so that its top touches the ground. Afterwards, it was permanently bent about thirty degrees.
Icy branches.
A closeup of more branches.
More branches and the stream that runs along the edge of the apartment grounds.
Ducks! What are the ducks still doing here??? Don't they know it's December?
Although they stirred when I first approahced, eventually they went back to resting.
Another part of the stream.
