Both Student Office Positions
have now been filled. I wish to thank

ESSENTIAL/NECESSARY:
1. Must be an OSU student.
2. Must be able to work majority of this summer quarter and rest of academic year.
DURATION OF JOB:
All year. If students can work during breaks, that is a plus, but there can be time off as long as there is sufficient notice.
SCHEDULE: Flexible!
Afternoon to evening hours are preferred
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES NEEDED:
- Computer experience (Microsoft Word)
- Familiarity with Excel
- Web searching
- Typing above 35 wpm
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Professional in appearance and manner
- Reliable and conscientious on completing work
- Team player yet also able to work independently, problem-solve
- Able to switch gears (start on one task but be asked to change to others due to ongoing multiple priorities that change in level of importance)
DESIRABLE QUALITIES:
- Familiar with website updating
- Quantitative mind, not scared of numbers
- Any bookkeeping and budgeting experience
- Graduating Spring 2006 or later (ideal but not required)
WORK DUTIES:
- Type correspondence (mostly cutting and pasting info from different files)
- Take phone messages, copy, fax, file
- Complete routine office forms (i.e. purchase orders, travel reimbursements)
- Various errands (i.e. buy supplies at bookstore; get articles from library occasionally)
- Look up information on the internet (people’s addresses, articles, conference info.)
- File hard copies of new or updated publications. File electronic copies of these in directory. Update a word file listings of these articles.
- Budget work: Writing current budget figures from an OSU website onto log; later, some checking that purchase receipts match with the website or printout; could be more involvement for students with aptitude with bookkeeping and excel.
- Updating website (will train)
- Special projects that come up
PAY:
The salary will range from $6.50 - $7.15 per hour depending on skills and qualities demonstrated in the interview and past experience. Students with good performance usually get one raise a year, usually the beginning of Winter Quarter. However, exceptions can sometimes be made for someone who really excels and is a valuable asset to the team.

DIRECTIONS AND MAP:
We are in the Physics Department, room 4112 Smith Lab, which is located on 174 W. 18th Avenue. This is building #065 on the map across from McPherson (building #053), between 18th and 19th Avenues and across from Science and Engineering Library (building #005).
Stair Directions: Go to front of building across from McPherson. Take stairs to the North. Go up stairs to fourth floor. At the orange double door windows you will see two hallways, one perpendicular to the stairs and the other, a narrower one, adjacent to the stairs. Walk down this narrower hallway and veer right, and you will see 4112.
Elevator Directions: The elevator is on the NE side of Smith Lab, so go around to the front of the building. Take the door next to the handicap ramp. Inside there is an elevator to the right. Exit on the fourth floor. Leaving the elevator head right (South). Turn right at the next hallway a few steps, then at the very next hallway (before you get to the window) turn left, and you will see my office 4112.
