Be by cold pressing to 60-95% theor. d. and subsequent hot pressing
at 871-1093° to 99% theor.
d. Thus, Be powder was pressed isostatically at 2800-4500 kg/cm2
and hot pressed at 1093°
and 14 kg/cm2 to give 99% theor. d., tensile strength 3520 kg/cm2,
yield stress 3090 kg/cm2, and elongation 2.0% vs. 2250-3090 kg/cm2,
2040-2320 kg/cm2, and 0.5-1.5%, resp., for compacts made by conventional
methods.
