Bibliography

There is an inherant problem in the world of modern bibliographies. With the advent of commonly used preprint services, many papers have their entire influence on the field before actually appearing in print. As such, a reference based on the paper publication of the article is hopelessly slow. Instead, the reference numbers for the articles in one or more of the preprint servers can be used. This assumes the reader can access these servers, but in this case I consider that a very good assumption.

The papers used as references for this web site that are preprints can be found at servers such as CERN preprint server, SISSA W3 Server (a partial mirror of the Los Alamos server), and xxx (which is the server at Los Alamos, I have no idea why the name is what it is). This is by no means an exhaustive list of the preprint resources available, but it is a useful start.

For those preprints, I will follow the emerging standard of listing the paper by the index number in the archives. As papers are published, I will try to update and list by the more traditional publication information. I will readily admit that I have probably not found the published sources for some of the preprints that I have used, and I request that any corrections be sent to me as soon as possible.

In the case that some part of the text refers to a paper by an abreviation of some sort, it has been listed in the citation enclosed in square brackets.

I had considered making the bibliography a hypertext connection to the implied papers, but the unstable nature of the connections involved, and the implied load on the preprint servers has convinced me that this is impractical.

And now, on with the bibliography.
