GRA Listings |
We have compiled a list
of professors who have open positions in their groups to help graduate students
find those with funding in any given field. We try to update this list every
quarter. This is of course not an exhaustive list, so if you know a different
professor you'd like to work for you should contact them directly. Remember this
list is one of possible research positions, and an offer is contingent upon the
professor's view of the student's introductory work in the group.
Also, to help you find out if a group is for you or not, we've compiled a
list of questions you may want to ask the professor or his/her students
directly. For some professors, we've interviewed them and asked about their
backgrounds, interests, and other information.

GRA for research for CERN LHC ALICE experiment beginning in the Summer 2010
quarter. The work would involve research with energies up to 14 TeV
proton+proton collisions and 5.5 TeV/nucleon-pair Pb+Pb collisions. The GRA
would be expected to spend several 1-2 month periods at CERN per year taking
part in data-taking shifts and interacting with other members of the ALICE
collaboration.

Theory
| Ralf Bundschuh | 1 |
Biophysics Theory, strong interest in statistical Physics and good
computational skills expected, no background in Biology required. Looking to
fill position ASAP.
|
| Yuri Kovchegov | 1 |
Nuclear Theory, more specifically applications of String theory methods to
strong interactions (QCD). Position open Fall 2010. Ideally by Fall 2010 the
student should have taken Quantum Field Theory and Particle Physics.
