From Electrodynamics to Chromodynamics: A Crash Course in QCD

Open House (part II): Get to know prospective graduate students. We need your participation! Below are the times that we need your help. Please let us know what events you can attend!
  • 8:30am: Breakfast at the Faculty Club
  • 1-2pm: Lunch at the North Market (board bus in loading dock around 12:15)
  • 5:30pm: Nacho bar with current grad students - PRB 4138
  • 7pm: House party! (See Mar. 2nd email to physics-grad list for details.)
Open House (part I): We will extend a big welcome to prospective graduate students as they visit our department, and we need your participation.
  • 6pm: Dinner at the Blackwell (depart from the PRB atrium around 5:45)
  • 9pm: Bowling at Capri Lanes. We will depart at 8:30 from the PRB. Please contact us if you are willing to drive!

PGSC will host a Fall Picnic on Saturday, October 8th. Show up around 1pm at Highbanks Metro Park, and you too could get free food and/or drinks! (Click here for a map.)
Come to the Ice Cream Social in the PRB atrium on Wednesday at 4pm. Incoming Graduate Students will be on hand to meet their graduate student mentors. Stop by and meet the new crowd!
Welcome new Gradute Students! New Student Orientation starts promptly at 8:30am in the Robert Smith Seminar Room. (It's the big glass-walled conference room in the PRB atrium.) Slides for the PGSC's portion of the talks can be found here. Also note that the afternoon portion of orientation is held upstairs in PRB 4138.
Physics Grad Summer Picnic! Come get free food and drinks at Highbanks Metro Park at 1pm on Saturday, July 23rd. We'll have a cookout and random games (determined by the equipment people decide to bring). Click here for a map.

Come hear about changes in the Graduate Women in Physics (GWiP) group, which will have its first recruitment event on Tuesday, May 3rd. Membership is open to all graduate students, post docs, faculty, and staff. Show up in the Smith Seminar room at 5:30pm to meet members, ask questions, and receive snacks!
