Every account is allotted disk space on the Windows server. Your personal space on this server will show up in "My Computer" as:

where username is your Windows NT username. This drive is backed-up once a week; since it is mapped to a network share, it can "follow" you to any Windows machine in the PHYSICS domain. We recommend that you use this drive to store all valuable files. However, large downloads from the Internet, (e.g. .mp3 files), should not be stored on this drive, because about 600 users are sharing this disk partition.
In addition to the network share on Windows, there are shares available via Samba for every user who has an account on the Physics Unix and VMS servers. These shares aren't mapped to drive letters by default; however, they are easy to access. For example, to see the contents of your home directory on Unix from a Windows XP system in the Physics domain, do the following:
The steps above will also work to access your home directory on VMS. To access your VMS files, use the string \\ohstpy\username
