There are two neutron polarimeters used in this experiment; one on the
line and one on the
line; giving us the ability to
take data at two angles at one time. The detector on the
flight
line is the INPOL ( Indiana Neutron Polarimeter) detector
and was originally built and used at LAMPF. When the polarized beam nuclear
physics program was phased out at LAMPF the detector was moved to an
upgraded
facility at IUCF. A picture of the detector can be seen
in figure
.

The other neutron polarimeter was designed at Kent State University (KSU) specifically for use at IUCF. This work will discuss the KSU detector to some extent, but most of the effort will concentrate on the INPOL detector since that is the detector for which OSU shares responsibility.
