The Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in strong interaction theory. Applications are encouraged from candidates with experience in the theory of high energy nuclear collisions, QCD at finite temperature/density, nonperturbative QCD and its relation to hadronic structure, and related areas. We are participating in the RHIC Physics Fellow program sponsored by the RIKEN/BNL Research Center, with the degree of participation to be negotiated with the candidate.
The position, which can begin as early as Fall 2000, is expected to be at the assistant professor level, but a tenured appointment would be considered for an exceptional candidate. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in physics, postdoctoral experience, and should have demonstrated outstanding research accomplishments. A commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels is essential.
Existing theoretical and experimental efforts in this area:
Applicants should submit a CV, including a list of publications and a brief statement of research interests, and arrange to have at least three letters of reference sent separately. To achieve full consideration, all materials should be received by January 15, 2000. Send all correspondence to:
