3.16.2008 --------- This dir has results of tests we did on the g1c and g2c files Paul provided (the first half in time on the gband image stacked together, and then second half stacked image). These results are from the RHS chip, because it was easier to run the shapelets pipeline all the way through this one rapidly, and we wanted to confirm them in both pipelines (though the plots shown below were the ones made in imcat). i also confirmed them separately on the whole image field in imcat (since it's much faster). --- Contents: * - starmaghisto.ps: First, the stellar magnitude histo for all stars. note the peaking around mag = 25.5 * - e0difVSsmag1.ps: the difference in e0 (the horiz. component of ellipticity) for position-matched stars (around 400 of them, with stellarity above 0.9 and mag between 20 and 25) between the g2 and g1 images plotted against magnitude of the g1 image -- note the spread is always large, and grows towards fainter mags as we might expect. - e0difVSsmag2.ps: same as above, plotted against magnitude of the g2 image, for completeness (looks about the same). - e1difVSsmag1.ps: the difference in e1 (the component of ellipticity at 45 degrees to the horiz.) for position-matched stars (around 400 of them) between the g2 and g1 images plotted against magnitude of the g1 image -- as above, note the spread is always large, and grows towards fainter mags as we might expect. - e1VSe0dif.ps: e1 dif vs. e0 dif for the matched stars. quite large spreads, clearly. - e1difVSsmag2.ps: same as above, plotted against magnitude of the g2 image, for completeness (looks about the same). - fwhm2vsfwhm1.ps: plotted this to compare another quantity -- again, quite a spread here. * - mag2vsmag1.ps: the mags are very consistent until we get above about mag 24 - Then i plotted the individual and smoothed star ellipticities for the g1 (firsthalf), g2 (secondhalf) and the original combined file we had (allstars -- same as i gave in the talk), to compare (the latter are much more useful to see than the former). these obviously drastically differ all of them from each other. but they check out very closely with the sextractor results from the shapelets pipeline too (not shown here, for the moment). Here are the files: * smoothed.starellips.allstars.ps * smoothed.starellips.firsthalf.ps * smoothed.starellips.secondhalf.ps starellips.allstars.ps starellips.firsthalf.ps starellips.secondhalf.ps
