HOW TO RUN A XTC TO FINDER TO LINKER TO XTRP TEST (xftdaq) ============================================================= 0. You must have the COT crates booked - ask for permission at the 8am meeting, inform the COT people (Bob Wagner). See system.cfg.all for an example configuration file for all the TDCs. You must also setup the XPT to talk to the relevant COT crates. 1. Bring up the xftdaq GUI under the cdf_xft account. See "How to start XFT diagnostic GUI" for instructions. 2. Go to Finderboard panel Flashram loading panel. The Finderboard SL13 input chips and the SL24 input chips must have the standard designs loaded. See "How to swap a finderboard" steps 10-15 for instructions on how to do this. 3. Go to NLinkerboard Xtc to Xft to Xtrp panel. Click green Setup XFT system button. The default settings on the XFT config GUI should be correct. Click the yellow TEST button to select/unselect all the checkboxes. Click the large yellow UPDATE button to finalise your choices. This last step is important and a summary of your XFT system will be printed on terminal from which you started xftdaq. Minimise this GUI. 4. Enter the current testvector file-stub in the field. This will depend on the miss design in the finders (1, 2 or 3 misses allowed out of 12 hits for a valid track segment) and the beamspot offset in the linkers (x mm at xxx degrees). In July 2001, the 2-miss design is loaded in the finders and a 4mm beam offset at 105 degrees is loaded in the linkers, so enter the file stub 0011Off400_2M 7. Make sure the Include XTC checkbox is selected. Make sure the L2 Check all events checkbox is selected. Click the green run test button. You can stop the test by clicking this button again. The lower half of this GUI panel contains fields to display an error summary. A log file (XXXResults* in the ~/xft directory) contains the individual error messages. You can switch on debugging printout with the various checkboxes and change the maximum number of error/debug messages that will be printed out also. 8. You can include XTRP by clicking on the Include XTRP checkbox, then the green run test button. You must have the XTRP crate booked (make sure no-one else is using it) and in your system.cfg file.
