Chiral Behaviors with the Overlap Fermion

Prof. Keh-Fei Liu (University of Kentucky)

Abstract

Recent advances in the formulation of chiral fermions on the lattice hold great promise for studying chiral symmetry of QCD at finite lattice spacing. I will present latest results on chiral behaviors, such as the quenched chiral log and the excited baryon spectra down to mπ ~ 180 MeV, as well as the structure of topological charge density. If time permits, I will discuss the feasibility of using the chiral fermion for both the light and heavy quarks on the lattice.
