The Holomorphic Anomaly in Topological Strings

Camillo Imbimbo (INFN, Sezione di Genova)

Abstract

The holomorphic anomaly of topological strings is
commonly seen as the signal that certain BRS-trivial states fail
to decouple due to contributions from the boundary of the
moduli space. I explain why this interpretation is incorrect and how the
non-holomorphicity of the physical correlators in no way implies a
violation of BRS symmetry.
