Three body forces in effective field theory

Hans-Werner Hammer, (OSU)

Abstract

Effective field theories are a very general and powerful method to describe low-energy observables in a model independent way. The significance of three-body forces in effective theory is illustrated for three different examples: (a) the nd-system at very low energy, (b) three-body recombination in Bose-Einstein-condensates, and (c) dilute Fermi systems at finite density.
