All quizzes will be comprised of multiple choice questions. These questions can be of three types. One is material that is related to your laboratories. Another is a general quiz question which consists of a problem which uses information and material covered in lecture or on homework assignments, but the problem itself is new.

The third kind of problem is closely related to the homework, and will refer specifically to a particular homework problem, homework conceptual question, or groupwork problem. The use of this type of question means that all quizzes will be held as "open homework" quizzes, that is; you will be permitted to bring and refer to your written homework during the quiz. No other written material will be permitted! No notes, no books, etc. The only information permitted on the homework sheets that you can refer to must deal specifically with the assigned homework questions and problems. If you use binders for your homework solutions, you must remove the pages for the current homework assigment, so that those sheets are the only ones on your desk.

You should also note that the base problems on which these question are built upon are the versions FROM THE TEXTBOOK.

The link below refers you to a "sample" quiz which uses this format, as an aid to introducing the style of quiz. Note that this is a quiz from the 111 course.
