This course is designed for first-year graduate students and advanced undergraduates. Topics include time-independent and time-dependent approximation methods, the semiclassical theory of radiation, and systems of identical particles. Homework assignments will be handed out weekly and graded. The grading will be apportioned as follows: 25% (homeworks), 30% (midterm), 45% (final).
