This course is designed for first-year graduate students and advanced undergraduates. Topics include the postulates of quantum mechanics, wave and particles, simple one-dimensional systems, Dirac notation, spin, and the harmonic oscillator. Homework assignments will be handed out weekly and graded. The grading will be apportioned as follows: 30% (homeworks), 25% (midterm), 45% (final).
