I simply no longer feel a drive to write about Jack and his cast of dozens. So, rather than let my legion of reader twist in the wind, I figured I'd post a sort of wrap-up, explaining where the plots were going to go and so forth. Yeah, it's not as good as having actual stories, but at least you won't be wondering anymore. First, I should point out that while I had some long term plans, a LOT of the time I was just winging it. I'd set up cliffhangers without any clear idea at the time how to get out of them. That's what happened with #30's cliffhanger. And I still haven't figured out how I'd want Jack to get himself out of that sticky situation, sorry. And now for the wrap-up. I'll cover the general plot first, then go over each character and subplot that I can think of. THE PLOT: After a bit more time working for Hell(TM) Inc., Jack would have entered the commodities pits in Chicago and used his skills to leverage his way into a position of wealth. Then, traveling to New York, he would have wreaked bloody financial carnage on Wall Street, ending up the new majority stockholder of Hell(TM) Inc. The intention would be to use his new power as majority stockholder to cancel his own contract. However, Jonesy actually hoped something like this would happen, for two reasons. One, it would take the load of paperwork off his back for a while and put it on Jack (and you can see that if I did write this now, I'd have to set it all before RX's work in de-corporatizing Hell(TM)). Two, Power Corrupts, yes? There's be a strong temptation to take the assembled forces of 666NASTYNASTYNASTY and beat the heavenly snot out of the gods of 973HONGKONGFILMS, thus getting them off the backs of him and his dad. At this point, I don't really know how far along this path I'd let Jack go before eschewing the power and resigning from Hell(TM) Inc. However, he certainly WOULDN'T go far enough to actually get Erlang and the others off his back for good, and once out from under Hell(TM)'s protection, he'd find himself hunted down by them. The gods might even have allied with the Red Squirrels. Rawluk and I also talked about a possible crossover, or at least cameo-over, but we both kinda stopped writing Superguy about the same time. CHARACTERS, SUBPLOTS AND MACGUFFINS: Ben Sidhe - In case anyone didn't figure it out, she was destined to become a love interest. Of course, I meant for this to take quite a while, since she started out hating his guts. The guilt she felt over inadvertently leading him into the clutches of Satan was going to be a big part of her attitude reversal. If I decided to let Jack go almost to the verge of accepting his role as CEO of Hell(TM) Inc., Mairi would have been the one to pull him back, beating some sense into him if need be. Afterwards, she'd help train him in mastering his chi so that he could survive being chased by all those irate gods. Squirrels in General - Jonkatta's report to his superiors would probably have gotten the Reds off Jack's case and put that subplot on the back burner. Gwen, however, has a personal beef, and would have gone rogue, perhaps with the support of elements within the Reds who did not support the cease in hostilities. Basically, as Ben Sidhe became less of an enemy and threat, Gwen would have become more of one. Louie, of course, would continue hanging out with Jack, but he's not really a squirrel. Hans Kartoffelkopf - No real plot plans for him. Just occasional appearances for humor's sake. Sister Sara - No idea, really. Her main use would be to make Jack feel guilty about trying to take over Hell(TM), but since Mairi's the one who would pull him back from the brink, that makes Sara kinda redundant to that plot. The Five Brothers - They continue to make cameos in RX's stuff. }-> The Tongs/Triads - Slow Moe Shen would have helped Jack in his financial adventure, giving him seed capital and access to the local commodities market. Once Jack made a splash there, he would have been able to go to Chicago. One possibility is that Jack could have given his shares in Hell(TM) Inc. to Shen after canceling his own contract, but that would now contradict stuff done with Hell(TM) Inc. The Movie Crew - They might have come back into the act once the Hell's (TM) CEO plotline resolved, not really sure. And that's pretty much it. Anything else left as a dangler, either I don't remember it, had no idea how to resolve it, or never intended it as anything more than a throwaway gag. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask me and I can add the answers to this file. -FIN-
