An official one may come someday, but at the moment Feng Shui is stuck around 1997, so I'm not holding my breath. }-> Fan-Created Archetype: PURIST "Strip away all the frippery and mumbo-jumbo, and what you have left is a true science." Maybe you were an Arcanotechnician or a time-displaced sorceror or even a regular BuroMil grunt who got some ideas in his head. The Purist conspiracy draws from a wide variety of backgrounds, but everyone has one thing in common: a conviction that modern mathematics can unlock the true secrets of magic. You have a good head for math, and you took well to the training offered by your cell-mates, adding a pure form of sorcery to the other skills you brought to the organization. Of course, you abandoned any arcanotech or demonic pacts you had made...they're false paths, after all. But you might have some other useful abilities, and you've already learned to hide what you really are...the Buro doesn't brook treason. Juncture: Any, but only 2056 without a good story. Attributes: Bod 5 Chi 0 (Mag =7) Mnd 6 (Int 8) Ref 5 Add 2 points to one primary attribute and distribute 5 points among your secondary attributes (9 Max). Skills: Sorcery +6 [Max 14] Guns +4 OR Martial Arts +4 [Max 12] Info/Mathemagic +5 (13) Deceit +2 (8) Add one skill not listed above at +1. Add +4 to your skills, distributed as you want, with no more than +2 to any one skill. Schticks: 3 Sorcery Schticks or 2 Sorcery Schticks and 1 Gun Schtick. Unique Schtick: Paradox Cube - The Paradox Cube is the first thing a true Purist creates, and it is their badge of proficiency. While the Cube is free to move about the Purist's body, it negates Juncture Penalties for the Purist. However, the penalty of Backlash is always the loss of one point of Manual Dexterity and the inflicting of 5 WP as the Paradox Cube demands a finger (this damage ignores Toughness). For 5 XP, the Purist can learn to work without that finger and regain a point of Dex, but the Dex score may never be higher than the number of remainging fingers. Magical healing will not restore fingers lost to a Paradox Cube. Performing Sorcery without the Paradox Cube will prevent the finger-loss effect, but normal backlash still happens. Note: Purist Sorcery has the same game effects as regular Sorcery, but with vastly different "special effects". Demons are replaced by constructs and spirits, Movement is often accompanied by equations of motion, etc. Pure Chi and Force are the most common Blast effects. Weapons: 1 weapon appropriate to your juncture. Quick Schtick Picks: Skill: Fix-It Sorcery: Summoning, Blast (Force) Gun: Hair-Trigger Neck Hairs Weapon: Buro 9 Wealth Level: Working Stiff
