Making Purist Constructs and Spirits: One might think that the radically different magic of the Purists would require entirely new templates for their spirits and constructs, but it turns out that this isn't necessary. A few of the details need to be tweaked, but the existing Ghost and Supernatural Creature templates do a very good job of portraying Spirits and Constructs. Firstly, there's no hard and fast rule as to whether a Spirit or Construct is a Ghost or Supernatural Creature. Some Purist minions are both Spirit AND Construct, after all. So it's up to you to decide which template to use. One thing in common is that you have to replace "Can only be healed by those who learned Medicine in 69 AD" with "Can only be healed by those with Info/Mathemagic". Info/Mathemagic can be used in place of Medicine to deal with the injuries of Spirits and Constructs. After covering how to modify the Archetypes, I'll discuss the Creature Powers and how they may need to be changed. GHOST This is more appropriate for spirits with less of a physical aspect, those that are manifestations of abstractions, such as the Memory Spirit or Binary Spirit. Juncture becomes 2063. Replace Cha = 8 with Per = 8. Replace Info/Musicianship and Seduction with Martial Arts +5 (Max 12) Juncture modifiers remain the same. SUPERNATURAL CREATURE This is more appropriate for the more physical Constructs like Mutator or Aether Spirit. Juncture becomes 2063. Horrific Appearance becomes Disturbing Appearance. Constructs are generally not hideous, but they give off a strong sense of wrongness that has much the same overall effect on onlookers. Deceptive Speed becomes Non-Euclidean Motion. Same effect, except instead of shambling along, the Construct or Spirit doesn't always pass through all the points between A and B. Juncture modifiers remain the same. CREATURE SCHTICKS If a Schtick is not mentioned, assumed it works fine for Constructs and Spirits. Blood Drain: This does not drain actual blood, but instead taps into the Morphic Field of the victim. Brain Shredder: Rather than fear, the effect is of extreme confusion and cognitive dampening. Corruption: This Schtick is rare, but not impossible. Domination: This Schtick may be taken to apply to computers instead of mortals. Foul Spew: Nauseating Chunks are not available. Glutinous Goo and Slippery Slime represent an ability to manipulate the force of friction. Poison: This Schtick is rare, but not impossible. Skin-absorbed Poison can represent a Construct that is subtly out of phase with reality, so that prolonged contact is bad for your Chi flow.
