Radiation Tests of Anode Front-End Board
Three 16-channel preamp boards containing the current prototype of
the anode preamp-discriminator ASIC (a BiCMOS device) were irradiated
with 63 MeV protons at the UC Davis cyclotron. Voltages and currents
were monitored during the irradiation and the chips were tested again
at Fermilab after the irradiation. No latch-ups were observed, and the
chips showed insignificant changes in gain, threshold and noise. Plans
for the final radiation tests of the pre-production chips with protons and
neutrons are being formulated.
Test results obtained so far are shown here.
