GIREP

[Gordon Aubrecht at the GIREP meeting in Slovenia]

GIREP is the International Research Group in Physics Education. It was founded in Europe in 1966, and soon began sponsoring meetings. It generally meets every other year somewhere in Europe. The 1996 meeting (see picture of Gordon drinking espresso with Paul Black, former president) was at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia.

Gordon contributed on two topics. One (see my home page) is CPEP's new fusion chart. He also spoke about his experiences working with central Ohio teachers during the summers in an institute run through Project Discovery, an NSF-supported Ohio program for training middle school teachers.

Gordon is also involved in the InterAmerican Conferences, international conferences in physics education in the Americas.
