CPEP is a non-profit organization of teachers, educators, and physicists located around the world. CPEP materials (charts, software, text, web resources) present the current understanding of the fundamental nature of matter and energy, incorporating the major research findings of recent years. During the last ten years, CPEP has distributed more than 100,000 copies of its charts and other products.

An original conception of the CPEP particles chart:
Fig. 2 The chart as it was first conceived.
The chart was first constructed in schematic form on brown paper at a meeting in San Francisco in 1989. Note the smaller pieces of paper taped to the larger chart and compare to your copy of the particles and interactions chart.
The original chart, with CPEPers Michael Barnett and Fred Priebe looking on.

At the CPEP meeting in Denver in 1994, the fusion chart group joined CPEP officially. From left, seated, Bob Reiland (F, P), Tom Gadsden (P), Marge Bardeen (P), Helen Quinn (P), and Gordon Aubrecht (P); standing, Fred Priebe (F, P), Charlie Harper (P), Andria Erzberger (P), Anthea Maton (P), Michael Barnett (P), Bill Achor (P), Robert Beck Clark (P), Ted Zaleskiewicz (F, P), and Rush Holt (F).
