Physics 670

Autumn 2009

Our goals are to support your intellectual development as a teacher so  that all of us are supported in our efforts to continue to build an exemplary science curriculum that provides the greatest benefit to all students in Grant Middle School. In this professional development, our individual growth is proportional to the effort we make individually to participate in meaningful ways such as continuing to ask good questions and by engaging in common activities with the rest of the staff (grade level and all grades) that are relevant and exciting.

The current grant provides for two full-day grade-level meetings this quarter and one common meeting.

Scheduled grade-level meetings are:

6th: 9 September 2009 (bat counting); 7 October 2009 (Kelley's Island trip)

7th: 22 September 2009 (tbd); 6 October 2009 (tbd)

8th: 18 September 2009 (Hocking Hills trip); 12 October 2009 (Caesar Creek State Park)

All grade meeting: 13 October 2009 at OSUM

The course carries one credit.

Evaluation for a grade will be:

Weekly interaction with colleagues through posting and discussion on Ed Gateway (50%)

Participation in and contributions to the grade level meetings on Tuesdays (20%)

Participation in and contributions to grade-level and all-grade professional days (30%)
