GRADUATION CELEBRATIONS: AWARDS CEREMONY and GRADUATION BREAKFAST

The Undergraduate Studies Office is planning two (2) events which will recognize those Physics and Engineering Physics majors graduating in Spring 2010. These are:

1. UNDERGRADUATE PHYSICS AWARD CEREMONY. Date to be announced. Graduating Seniors will be recognized and a class picture will be taken.

2. GRADUATION BREAKFAST When: the morning of Spring Commencement. Where: The PRB atrium. Graduating Seniors along with their families are invited. Invitations will be sent to the graduating seniors and their parents at their university address of record. Graduating Seniors are encouraged to invite a favorite faculty member to attend this event as well. An invitation that the student can give to the faculty member will be available Spring quarter.

Arts and Sciences Physics

• Fill out the major program form
• Complete the Graduation Survey (this survey is password protected - contact Lindsey Perry to get access).
• Make an appointment with either Lindsey Perry or Dr. Richard Hughes 2 quarters prior to graduation in order to get your major program form checked and signed (ex: if you're graduating spring quater, make an appointment for early to mid winter quarter).
• Your GEC's do NOT go on the major program form
• OPTION SPECIFIC ELECTIVES refers to the courses that you take for your OPTION (A,B,C,D,E, or F) that are NOT Physics courses. ADDITIONAL REQUIRED PHYSICS refers to the Physics courses that you took for your option that are NOT part of the listed CORE REQUIRED PHYSICS. A list of these courses can be found in the table at: http://www.physics.ohio-state.edu/undergrad/bs_physics.php
• Remember that ALL grades on the major program form MUST be above "C-".
• The major program form, when complete and signed, will go to the College offices in Denney Hall OR to your Honors advisor.
• The question, "Have you filed a degree for application?" should have an answer of "NO". This is a prompt to remind you that you need to fill out your degree for application in the College Offices in Denney Hall.

Engineering Physics

• Fill out the major program form
• Fill out the College of Engineering graduation application
• Complete the Graduation Survey (this survey is password protected - contact Lindsey Perry to get access).
• Make an appointment with either Lindsey Perry or Dr. Richard Hughes 3 quarters prior to graduation in order to get your major program form checked and signed (ex: if you're graduating spring quarter, make an appointment for mid to late autumn quater).

Any petitions for course substitutions will be completed at or BEFORE this time. You may also be contacted by the Undergraduate Studies office, after completing your paperwork, for further details about your postgraduation plans.

To change your address, go to http://commencement.osu.edu and follow the appropriate links.

To see your name as listed on university records, go to http://buckeyelink.osu.edu/advising_degree.html and click on advising report. When your advising report appears, your name should be listed at the top.

All students must complete a major program form appropriate for their major. This form accompanies your application for degree which is submitted at your College Office.

THESE FORMS ARE DUE IN THE COLLEGE OFFICES NO LATER THAN THE BEGINNING OF THE TERM YOU WISH TO GRADUATE.
