Undergraduate Student Award and Scholarship Recipients
Each May, the Department of Physics hosts an Undergraduate Awards Ceremony where high achieving students are given awards for
their hard work, or presented with scholarships for the upcoming academic year. Past awards and scholarship

Physics Undergraduate Summer Research Program
The Department of Physics Undergraduate Summer Research Program supports undergraduate physics and engineering physics
majors pursuing research projects with an approved faculty sponsor during the summer. The program runs 10 weeks, but may
extend further depending on the availibility of funds.
Valentino Physics Academic Achievement Scholarship
2011 Valentino Physics Academic Achievement Scholarship: Undergraduate scholarship for students newly admitted to The Ohio State University and will major in Physics or Engineering Physics.

Students who are in the College of Engineering are eligable to apply to many of the academic based or financial need based
scholarships the College offers.

International Research Grants for Undergraduates in Arts & Sciences
This grant is designed to encourage students to engage in research in international venues with their faculty research mentors.
Funding is available for up to $4,000.

Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Scholarship
Students must have attained senior standing and meet one of the following criteria: be a potential candidate for graduation with distinction; or present other evidence of work on a significant research project.
Award: $500 to approximately $8,000 (applied toward university fees)

External Scholarships
NASA Aeronautics Scholarship
The Aeronautics Scholarship program is open to undergraduate students and includes a $15,000 scholarship for each academic year for 2 years. It also includes a
$10,000 summer internship at a NASA Research Center.

Sigma Xi Research Funds
Sigma Xi is an international, multidisciplinary research society that endeavors to encourage support of orginal work across the spectrum of science and

NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program
The National Science Foundation funds a research program for undergraduates which consists of a group of about 10 undergraduates from various schools who work
in the research program of a host instition. Each student is associated with a specific research project, where he/she works closely with the faculty and other
researchers. The program includes a summer stipend and housing.
