Swanson awarded NSF Graduate Research Fellowship
Congratulations to Mason Swanson, a first year graduate student working with Prof. Nandini Trivedi, who recently received a prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship in the 2010 competition.
Congratulations also to two other current graduate students in our program, Daniel Hoy (working with Profs. Roberto Meyers and Zeke Johnston-Halperin) and Morgan Welsh (working with Prof. Michael Poirier), who received honorable mentions in this highly competitive competition.
The National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and provides three years of full support for outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees in the U.S. and abroad. The program has a long history of selecting recipients who achieve high levels of success in their future academic and professional careers. The reputation of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship follows recipients and often helps them become life-long leaders that contribute significantly to both scientific innovation and teaching.
Two of our incoming graduate students for autumn, 2010 also received the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. They are Jessica Brinson from Louisiana State University and Stanley Steers from University of Pittsburgh.
A complete list of winners and honorable mentions can be found at the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship website.
