Distinguished University Lecturer
Arthur Epstein, Distinguished University Professor of Physics and Chemistry, and Director of the Center for Materials Research has been selected as University Distinguished Lecturer for 2001-02 (along with Ruth Colker, professor of law.) Each will deliver free, public lectures next year on a topic of their choice that reflects their scholarly expertise.
A faculty member at Ohio State for 16 years, Epstein is one of the world's leading experts in conducting polymers. Among his best-known inventions is the world's first plastic magnet. He has received the University's Distinguished Scholar Award and is credited for his instrumental role in substantially increasing interdisciplinary research and education at Ohio State.
