On the afternoon of February 11 Gordon Aubrecht was paid a surprise visit in the Physics Education Research Group meeting by OSU President Gordon Gee, who announced that Professor Aubrecht is a winner of the 2007-2008 Faculty Award for Distinguished University Service. President Gee was accompanied by Provost Joe Alutto and Arts and Sciences Executive Dean Jackie Royster, among others.
