Physics Major Jessica Hanzlik Named a 2008 Rhodes Scholar
Senior Physics major Jessica Hanzlik has been named a 2008 Rhodes Scholar. She is the first OSU Rhodes Scholar since 1986, and only the fifth in OSU history. With the scholarship she will do two years of study at Oxford University. She is one of 32 U. S students to win Rhodes Scholarships this year and the only one from Ohio.
Jessica does research in high energy experiment with Richard Hughes and Brian Winer, and she has done research in physics education with Andrew Heckler. She is also the founder of two organizations, OSU Women in Physics and OSU Women in Math and Science. In addition to physics, she is majoring in French as well as pursuing a minor in Mathematics.
