2007 University Distinguished Scholar Award
Professor Ulrich Heinz was recently awarded The Distinguished Scholar Award by a surprise classroom visit from President Karen Holbrook.
The Distinguished Scholar Award, established in 1978, recognizes exceptional scholarly accomplishments by senior professors who have compiled a substantial body of research, as well as the work of younger faculty members who have demonstrated great scholarly potential. Recipients are nominated by their departments and chosen by a committee of senior faculty, including several past recipients of the award.
The Distinguished Scholar Award recognizes a maximum of six faculty annually for outstanding scholarly achievements. Each recipient is awarded a $20,000 research grant for the pursuit of further scholarly activity and a $3,000 honorarium from the Office of Research.
