Exploring the Atomic-scale Electronic Structure of High-Tc Superconductivity using Wavefunction Imaging STM
J. C. Seamus Davis
Cornell University
High temperature superconductivity has defied explanation for almost 20 years. Why have we failed so miserably to understand the physics of these materials? One reason may be that the nano-scale electronic structure of high-Tc cuprates was, until recently, unknown. In this colloquium we will visually explore the uniquely beautiful and complex electronic environment of high-Tc superconductors.
